Saat berusia 8 tahun saya sering menemani ibu saya untuk belanja mingguan di Gloria minimarket sebuah pusat perbelanjaan terlengkap dikota kami Ternate. Setiap kali mengikuti beliau belanja saya selalu melihatnya membawa catatan belanjaan yang ia selipkan ditas. Hingga suatu hari saya bertanya kepadanya, apa manfaat membawa catatan belanja tersebut. Ada banyak hal yang dijelaskan kepada saya saat itu, tetapi yang paling berkesan dari penjelasannya adalah kita akan focus untuk mencari barang-barang yang diperlukan dan juga terhindar dari godaan yang terkadang datangnya tiba-tiba untuk membeli barang-barang yang tidak kita butuhkan. Dan anda pasti tahu nama dari sang penggoda itu … diskon dan sale.
Kehidupan ini memberikan banyak sekali pilihan untuk dapat anda lakukan setiap harinya. Dimana terkadang pilihan – pilihan yang kelihatannya baik untuk dikerjakan belum tentu adalah pilihan yang tepat. Seperti membeli barang diskon, kelihatanya baik tetapi menjadi tidak tepat karena anda belum atau bahkan mungkin tidak membutuhkannya.
Jika hidup ini seperti sebuah supermarket maka tanpa daftar belanja yang detail anda hanya berputar-putar menghabiskan waktu tanpa membeli apapun. Atau mungkin saja anda membeli sesiatiu dan kemudian anda menyesalinya.
Membuat daftar keinginan dalam hidup adalah sebuah keharusan, agar anda bisa focus kepada sebuah tujuan yang jelas. Bukankah focus adalah sebuah kekuatan ?
